The title takes its name from the famous cannon "La grande Berta", a model of a land artillery piece used by the German army during the First World War. To tell the truth, it was not the conceptual artist Paolo Grassi himself who gave the work its name.

Paolo Grassi - again in the context of the From "0" to infinity project - started with the basic cube and subsequently developed cylindrical perturbations of the same diameter but of various heights. The peculiarity is that the work is self-supporting and can be positioned in various ways.

A unicum - for now - of the From "0" to infinity project, the artist has produced a large-scale aluminium version (227th Element) but the real novelty is that it bears different numbers for display in a large garden, in a park but also indoors in a spacious atrium. It was produced in a single piece.

Il titolo prende il nome del famoso cannone "La grande Berta" è un modello d'un pezzo d'artiglieria terrestre utilizzato dall'esercito tedesco durante la prima guerra mondiale. Per la verità non è stato lo stesso artista concettuale Paolo Grassi a dare il nome all'opera.

Paolo Grassi - sempre nel contesto Progetto From "0" to infinity - è partito dal cubo base e ha successivamente sviluppato delle perturberanze cilindriche dello stesso diametro ma di varie altezze. La particolarità che essendo l'opera autoportante la si può posizionare in vari modi.

Una unicum - per ora - del Progetto From "0" to infinity che l'artista ne ha realizzato una versione in alluminio di grandi dimensioni (227° Elemento) in scala ridotta ma la vera novità è che riporta numeri diversi da esporre in un grande giardino, in un parco ma anche all'interno in uno spazioso atrio. È stato prodotto in un unico esemplare.
